My first wartime recipe

Today I tried my first wartime recipe.



Corned Beef Rissoles


Ingredients

8 oz Mashed potatoes
8 oz cooked mixed veg ( I just used carrots and peas)
4 oz Corned Beef
4 oz Wheatmeal breadcrumbs ( I used my 50/50 bread)
4 tbsp Brown sauce
Seasoning
Pinch of mixed herbs



Flake the corned beef and mix with the mashed potato, vegetables and breadcrumbs, add the seasoning and mixed herbs and brown sauce. Mix it all together and form patties/shapes.




The recipe states it is for 2-3 servings, perfect amount for us, 2 each.




Bake in a hot oven.


I baked in a preheated oven at 200 c for 15-20 minutes.




I just served with baked beans.


The corned beef I used was Asda Smart Price, £1.47 for 340g, and there is plenty left to use in another wartime recipe tomorrow.

Real frugal food, simple, cheap and tasty.
