I put out a dish of seed for Percy the pigeon, the doves and blackbirds, but it makes such a mess on the lawn and when it gets wet it gets in a right mess.

I have been wanting a large ground feeder tray so that it doesn't make a mess and the water can drain away, but was not prepared to pay for one. Whilst at the carboot sale, my husband spotted a letter tray for 50p, he gave it a spray with some black paint to stop it rusting and made a frame with some scrap wood from the shed.

A lick of fence paint.

I got my tray and it cost hardly anything.

A job well done.

    1. Well not really, my husband likes to keep a nice lawn, however some wild violets have popped up and they are gorgeous.
