I think summer might be here again, long may it continue.

It was nice to eat out in the garden this evening, after tea we sat and relaxed with a drink, it was lovely.

Today I managed to pick up another bargain, from Gumtree.

I do love cookery books.

I paid just £5.00 for all of these.

These are the ones I have decided to keep.
The rest will be put in a lot and sold on, so in the end the ones I am keeping wouldn't have cost me much at all.

I have a big pile of books in the bedroom to read.
My bookcase/cupboard which we paid 99p for is just about full, I will get some book ends and make another shelf on the top of it.
I do love books.

  1. I adore books too and used to buy them new and they are so very expensive. I think Summer might finally have arrived here in France too; enjoy your garden !

    1. I remember the days when I use to be a member of several book clubs, they cost me a small fortune.

  2. Oh you're so lucky. The weather is fine here but nothing like we had the other month. We really could do with another spell of summer weather. I hope you have a relaxing evening in the garden. X

  3. you did so well with the books. I had two of them but chucked them in recycling. I hate admitting that actually, I've wasted so much money over the years doing that, but I have a rule. If I don't use a cookbook for even one recipe then I have to get rid. If not I end up with so many. The only exception is if the book is too beautiful to part with, like the Ladurée one. I would love to try the recipes, but I'm too heavy handed. So I just look at the pictures instead!

    1. Yes that's the way I do things, I always buy stuff but am always selling on when I have finished with it, that way I don't end up with clutter and then the money comes for when I spot something else xx

  8. Lovely stash of books. I don't buy many these days as I tend to google anything I need. I have a range of books on my Shelf that I consult regularly.
