Hello & Welcome to my new follower Barbara.

My latest Ebay bargain.

A bookcase/cupboard for only 99p.

This is now in my office and I have moved the craft/sewing desk into the spare room.

I am not  brilliant at sewing but get by, today I have been taking in dresses and skirts which where a bit big.

On the subject of sewing, many thanks to Sam. http://ninetofive-ish.blogspot.co.uk/

who hosted a fabric giveaway, I was one of the lucky winners, she kindly sent me this.

Thankyou very much, the only thing I have made since we moved was a couple of patchwork quilts, and I didn't have any fabric left after that, so this is a start at building the stash up again, I will be looking to make another patchwork quilt when I have enough fabric.

  1. How can anyone go to the trouble of putting something on eBay for sale and selling it for 99p? It seems mad, but what a bargain for you and how good it looks!

    1. Thankyou Margaret, I know it is crazy, when we arrived to pick it up the gentleman said just have it and leave me some good feedback, we still gave him a pound, I felt really mean, but at the end of the day if he had wanted more he shouldn't have started it off at 99p.
I used to have two bookcases and with all the moving all my books went as well, so I am now building them up again.

  2. What a great cupboard!

I didn't notice at the tine how out of place the balloons look next to everything else, ha! Hopefully you'll find a use for it.

I thought of you as I finally managed to grab some bargains myself this evening! Two pieces of gammon 20p, two pieces of Haddock 20p, straight into the freezer. I also got some bags of cauliflower and brocolli for 5p. X

  9. The fabric is gorgeous, Marlene, please do show us what you make with it. Great bookcase too, sometimes you just want these things to go to a good home. Even at 99p it's much better than sending it to landfill x

  10. Orchid care. Place your pots in a couple of inches of water once a week for about 10 minutes. Drain and put back in the cachepot. Don't leave in direct sunlight. They should flower for about 4 months and then the flowers will gradually fall off. When they have all fallen cut the stem right back. Continue with weekly watering. A new stem should eventually appear between the leaves above the last one. I have six which flower year in year out with this regime of care. I heard these tips on a French radio programme some years ago and it certainly works for me. Its a good idea occasionally to spray the leaves with clean water to wash off the dust.Good luck.
