Today we went back to Slimbridge Wetlands Centre.

We had a really lovely day.

The highlight of the day.
We sat in the hide and waited and waited my hands were freezing , but it payed off, the first time in my 48 years I was lucky to see not one but two Kingfishers,

Absolutely delighted.

  1. How wonderful to see the kingfishers. We have seen one before by the river but never two together. A great day. X

    1. When we went in the hide we heard someone say they had just come out of the nest , so we knew they would eventually turn up again x

  4. Great photos but the kingfishers are truly something else. I'd say it is probably quite rare to get two together like that so job well done!

    1. Yes I couldn't believe it, the hide was quite a distance from the nests, I had the big lens on the camera, but had to enlarge the last two pictures so we could see them properly x

  7. Wow - your photos are fantastic! I've seen a few kingfishers by rivers usually in flight, but never tried to photograph one. Your patience really paid off. Glad you had a good day out.
