Welcome to my new follower Janice.

Here is the lap quilt I made yesterday.

Tested it out last night, nice and snug, we have the heating on a timer so it comes on in the mornings and we put it on for a few hours in the evenings, but I do feel the cold, ideal to keep me warm as well if I sit down and read in the day.

Very pleased with my efforts.

  1. Well done on the quilt, you are ahead of me. I have only managed a pillowcase, a cushion cover and a couple of bits for Christmas presents!

  3. It's fabulous, lovely colours. I feel the cold too so I enjoy crocheting blankets during the winter as they keep you warm as you work on them.

  4. A very pretty quilt. Nice to be warm in the colder evenings. I have a sheepskin rug on our sofa but it's a struggle to get near it as the cat claims it every evening!

  6. Love your quilt, the colours blend so well. I'm usually hot but LH is always complaining he's cold.

  7. Quilting is something I am desperate to learn when I have more time. Do you use a roller cutter and self healing board to do your squares?

    1. I did in the past, but I find it easier with a good pair of fabric scissors. The purple lap quilt the material was already cut that size, I got it from Ebay (China) you can also buy pre cut patchwork on Ebay, but it is cheaper if you do it yourself.

    2. Thanks Marlene I'll take a look. My friends son died a short while ago and she us learning to quilt as she wants to make his tshirts into blankets for his 3 young sons. A wonderful idea.
