Just a quick post today, I have been busy all day, jam making, cleaning etc.

Thankyou for Jo who pointed out to me that I shouldn't leave my Tarragon out in the winter (it is in a pot now).

I still need more herbs, I have Tarragon in a pot, Mint in a pot,
In the ground Bay, Rosemary, Sage, Oregano,Thyme, Chives and Parsley, can any one advise any more herbs which are hardy?

  1. Sorry I can't help. I have no clue with plant growing of any kind. I wish I had your enthusiasm for cleaning. I've let mine slide of late. I must rectify that once this week is out of the way. X

  2. I don't use many herbs. I should use more. I grew mint a few years ago but it took over he garden. I quite like basil it such a bright fresh looking plant.

  3. I don't think this one's hardy but some lemon mint spread through to us from our neighbour's garden some years ago and it's taken over! It smells lovely though but I've never used it in cooking. It comes back every spring bigger than ever and I never do anything to it. Not sure of its proper name.

  5. We've got herbs stuck in pots and I've just started a herb garden in the soil, but it is more for pollinators so may not have the sort you're looking for. I've got feverfew, hyssop, thyme, marjoram (oregano) and chamomile in there. Some are still flowering too :o)

  7. I have overwintered tarragon outside, but only by accident and won't do it again. I have also overwintered lemon verbena outdoors much to everyone's surprise. Most of my herbs are still in full swing. Fennel and Dill both regrow the following year too.
